Update dated 03/21/2020:

Beginning Monday, March 23rd, our office hours will be 9am-1pm. We will have a team member in the office to take your calls as well as process any items left in the night drop during that time. Please be patient as wait times may be longer than usual due to limited staff.

As you are all aware, we are located inside of the Bayer Luling Plant. At this time, Bayer is only allowing for critical staff on site to minimize potential COVID-19 exposure to all. We want to remain proactive and do our part to flatten the curve and limiting our staff is one way we can help accomplish this.

As a reminder, to make a deposit to your account, please utilize the night drop/mail slot on our front door. We check this throughout the day and make all deposits as received. If the deposit is made after hours, it will be posted the next business day.

If you need to make a withdrawal out of your account, we are still able to cut member checks, just give us a call to discuss details when requesting the withdrawal.

You can also utilize our digital tools and other resources for self-service banking, electronic payments and 24/7 account access.

As always, the health, safety, and well-being of our members, team members, and communities is a top concern. We will continue to monitor this quickly evolving situation and are here to assist you in any way possible.

We will continue to provide regular updates, as appropriate.

We hope you all stay healthy and safe.

If you have any questions, please give us a call at 985-785-3350, or send us at email at info@bartonfcu.com.

Update dated 03/19/2020:

As many of you already know, we have restricted all access to our credit union. Although this was not an easy decision, we felt it was the right decision to safeguard the health and well-being of our members and employees while still enabling us to continue to fulfill our mission of serving our members. While we recognize that limiting in-person lobby services may be an inconvenience, please be assured that we offer many 24/7 account access options for you, including access to our Mobile App, Online Banking, and Audio Teller. You can also find directions to any of our free ATMs on our website, many available 24/7.  And as before, we are still available to take your calls during normal business hours.

To make a deposit to your account, please utilize the night drop/mail slot on our front door. We check this throughout the day and make all deposits as received. If the deposit is made after hours, it will be posted the next business day.

If you need to make a withdrawal out of your account, we are still able to cut member checks, just give us a call to discuss details when requesting the withdrawal.

We will continue to monitor public health guidance and will update our Website’s Resources tab (Click on COVID-19 from the drop down menu) with the most up-to-date information related to our actions, including any changes to service availability and hours that may affect members.

Experts believe that if we all temporarily limit close personal contact with those outside our households, everyone will benefit as this precautionary step will slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work together to safeguard the health of our members, staff, and our communities.

We will continue to provide regular updates, as appropriate.

We hope you all stay healthy and safe.

If you have questions, please contact us at 985.785.3350.

Update dated 03/16/2020:

Dear Member,

Barton Credit Union understands the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to being responsive to the needs of our members and team members as the situation evolves.

At this time we are restricting access to our office. We will be in the office to answer all phone calls during normal business hours.

To make a deposit to your account, please utilize the night drop/mail slot on our front door. We will check this throughout the day and make all deposits as received. If the deposit is made after hours, it will be posted the next business day.

If you need to make a withdrawal out of your account, we are still able to cut member checks, just give us a call to discuss details when requesting the withdrawal.

We strongly encourage you to utilize our digital tools and other resources for self-service banking, electronic payments and 24/7 account access.

You can access your accounts online or by using the Barton Credit Union mobile app at your convenience. From there, you can make loan payments, check balances, view transactions, find a surcharge free ATM and so much more. In most cases, it’s easier and faster to manage your account digitally, especially when call wait times may be longer.

We are all being faced with the problematic outbreak. It’s our responsibility to handle the current situation cautiously and we’re encouraging everyone to take precautionary methods:

·    Frequently wash your hands with soap and water

·    Disinfect your work or home area daily

·    Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands

·    Minimize any unnecessary physical contact during this period

·    Avoid close contact with people who are sick

Thank you for being a valued Member of Barton Credit Union.

If you have questions, please contact us at 985.785.3350.

Update dated 03/09/2020:

At Barton Credit Union, we are well aware of the potential impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are taking steps to ensure the availability of our services to members. As part of our business continuity program, we have a plan to help ensure we can provide ongoing critical service levels to our members. This includes the ability of staff to work from home and cross-training to ensure backup for critical roles. Our credit union management team is closely monitoring our risk and preparedness for this changing situation.

As called for by contingency plan, actions we are taking at this time include:

  • Monitoring Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) updates and outbreaks, educating employees, and increasing hygiene efforts.
  • Actively working with our critical vendors to confirm their preparedness.

As conditions warrant, our strategy calls for telecommuting for staff, restricting workplace access, limiting outside visitors’ access to staff and limiting non-essential travel by staff.

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the threats are changing rapidly. We will continue to communicate with you through our normal communication channels or publish information on our website, as needed.

While we understand the situation remains fluid, we believe we are well positioned to respond to possible impact with operational procedures, a member-focused staff, and proven business continuity plans and resources.

As added precautions for your health and the health of others, we are encouraging you to utilize mobile banking services as much as possible as well as your ATM and/or Debit Cards

We are currently still operating as normal and should anything change, you will be notified accordingly.

If you have questions, please contact us at 985.785.3350.
